Thursday, January 19th

Simon arrived in the world on January 5th, 2017 in a most dramatic way. Missy was only 26 weeks and 6 days pregnant. She woke up and knew something was wrong. A few hours after arriving at Newton-Wellesley Hospital, Simon was born at 2:46 AM. A few hours later, he took his first ride in an ambulance when he moved from Newton to Brigham and Women's Hospital. Mom and Dad joined Simon later that day.

During Mom and Dad's stay at the Brigham, we met many of Simon's doctors and nurses. Judy is his primary nurse during the days and Teva is his primary nurse at night. His doctor in January is Dr. Levin. We love everyone we have met and they are all taking such good care of Simon. Judy might love him as much as we do!

Mom and Dad moved back home on Monday, January 9th and have visited Simon everyday. We get to touch him and Missy gets to hold him. Seth FaceTimed him this week and said, "I love you, Baby Simon." Sy has had all positive news from tests of his heart and brain. His lungs are the challenge for him right now, but he's working hard to strengthen them enough to remove his breathing tube permanently.

Simon's cutest tricks:

  • When he sleeps on his side, his hand immediately goes under his chin as if he's resting his little head on it
  • When he hears Mom and Dad, he opens his eyes to look for us
  • He LOVES his binkie and if it falls out he sticks out his little tongue to try to find it
  • His foot is so tiny that the light from the monitor attached can shine right through it

Check out the photos section to see the little man in action.

With love,
